The echocardiogram (an ultrasound image of the heart), and the electrocardiogram (EKG) are the best tools for detection of heart abnormalities leading to sudden cardiac death. Unfortunately, the vast majority of insurance providers will not fund this type of evalutaiton in asymptomatic patients.
Heartfelt Cardiac Projects organization is a 501(c)3 non-profit Public Benefit Corporation dedicated to saving young lives from sudden cardiac death through early detection and increased public awareness.
